Description

In conjunction with the COO-GBMA, coordinates all aspects of the ambulatory service line including but not limited to new program and service development and continuous evaluation and measurement of ongoing programs and services. Coordinates the development of clinical integration for the Greater Baltimore Medical Associates.

Education

Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree in business or healthcare administration preferred.

Experience

Minimum five years of health administration experience or a master's degree in business or healthcare administration

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced skills in project management.
  • Skill in using computer and a variety of applications. Prior EMR experience preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, to communicate and relate effectively with staff, physicians, and organization administration
  • Analytic ability in order to problem solve, develop goals, objectives, clinical protocols, critical paths, and policies and procedures
  • Skill in financial analysis including business plan development

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements, monitors, and communicates strategic and business plans to support the growth and development of the Primary Care Service Line and Specialty Physician Practices.
  • Actively participates in program development related to physician practices and system focused on access to care, patient satisfaction, and other areas of patient engagement.
  • Contracts with Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians to provide clinical services in the practice setting.
  • Recognizes the role of clinical stakeholders and includes their needs in the development of their assigned services' clinical programs and business planning.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with physicians, department leaders, practice managers, and others.
  • Chairs the Clinical Operations Team in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standard work for the clinical and business operations of the Ambulatory Service Line.
  • Reviews work processes to ensure efficiency of work flow and integration of services within the Ambulatory Service Line.
  • Oversees the development of annual operating and capital budgets for all or parts of the Ambulatory Service Line. Monitors expenditures and implements corrective actions and addresses negative budget variances.
  • Works collaboratively with Greater Baltimore Health Alliance to maximize incentives from payor programs including but not limited to CareFirst PCMH, CMS MIPS Quality Payment Program and others as identified.
  • Serves as practice operation lead on practice facility development, recruitment, design, and relocation projects, working closely with Facilities project manager and respective practice managers.
  • Directs and oversees clinical education and quality and patient safety programs related to physician practices.
  • Works closely with MIS on implementation and optimization of the EMR as it relates to front and back office business workflows and clinical needs of the physician practices
  • Provides decision support and analysis to Executive and Service Line Leadership, as it relates to Primary Care and physician practices, as needed
  • Coordinates board, advisory board, and board committee activities for the Ambulatory Service Line
  • Works closely with laboratory partners and vaccine vendors to drive operational efficiency and appropriate utilization within practices
  • Willingness to assume higher levels of responsibility including:
    • Managing all or parts of administrative and operational resources for the Ambulatory Service Line
    • Overseeing and directing the work of assigned Ambulatory Service Line staff and support functions
    • Other duties as assigned by the COO of GBMA
  • Other Duties as assigned by the COO-GBMA
