Your Opportunity:
As a full-time requirements engineer you will work closely with integrated groups to conduct systems engineering and analysis work in support of the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). You will apply engineering principles and practices to solve complex engineering challenges and participate in program management reporting. You will have a hands-on role in defining the system level requirements for a nuclear weapons system, and determining how requirements trace and are derived for system components. This is onsite work at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM.
What You Will Do:
Perform requirements engineering and traceability analysis along with NNSA laboratory partners and DoD customers to define early system level requirements for a major weapon system. Perform systems engineering, program management, requirements management, and risk analysis activities. Lead efforts to manage requirements for a large-scale program, including working with the IBM DOORS system to define the requirements architecture alongside the Design Agency teams. Perform systems studies and analyses to support informed decision making. Develop and implement systems engineering processes and procedures. Understand and execute broad objectives from management, then independent analysis, evaluation, and integration of solutions for unusually complex technical problems. Identify, track, mitigate, resolve, and communicate technical risks and issues related to product and/or system performance objectives.
What You Will Need:
Active Q clearance or Top Secret security clearance. 7 or more years of systems engineering experience, including working with design analysis tools, project management, and leading interdisciplinary technical teams. Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline. Ability to work in a team environment and a strong desire to learn continuously.
