General Summary:

Join our team as a Senior Digital Employee Experience Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our internal employee technology lifecycle and user experience. As part of the Digital Employee Experience Team, you will be responsible for a diverse range of activities and IT projects aimed at optimizing our employees' interaction with technology.

Your key responsibilities will include creating clear, concise, and user-friendly communications and training materials, managing a large cross-departmental champions group, conducting data analysis on employee feedback for strategic initiatives, and adeptly balancing competing demands while meeting stakeholder expectations.

We are seeking an individual with a keen attention to detail, a natural ability to foster partnerships, and strong time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. This is a hybrid role that will be based in Atlanta, GA (Sandy Springs), Chattanooga, TN, Portland, ME, or Columbia, SC.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Has 6+ years of experience with a focus in communications, project management, systems, or IT is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Unum's products and businesses is preferred
  • Exceptional ability to effectively articulate complex ideas and concepts through clear and concise verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional ability to identify and apply different communication mediums based on content and audience to achieve intended goal
  • Has advanced Microsoft Office 365 skills (Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing business and technical environment
  • Exceptional initiative and ability to set stretch goals
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with business and IT partners on business requirements and timeframes on large initiatives
  • Exceptional ability to rally support among peers and work effectively in challenging situations
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to balance the need to gather detail with the need to solve the problem
  • Exceptional general management skills including conflict resolution, negotiation and consultative advisory skills

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements communication and reporting mechanisms to manage issues, risks, and timely delivery of initiative results.
  • Ensures business needs and project objectives are effectively captured in needed communications for a system, process, or workflow.
  • Ensures clarity of the impact to the employee experience with the project team so that all communications are completed within defined timeframes, meeting objectives and strategic goals.
  • Ensures that user documentation is complete, current, and archived appropriately.
  • Contributes to adjustments to the deployment and implementation methodology in the name of the user experience.
  • Delivers results for medium and large internal, and sometimes cross-functional, project initiatives, within established timeframes and quality measures. This includes coordinating pilots, collecting/analyzing feedback to provide to the appropriate team(s), in addition to creating concise user-friendly communication with a strong attention to detail.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of the enterprise to manage assigned tasks
  • Proactively identifies user experience issues and escalates them to appropriate audiences for awareness and/or additional support.

Leadership

  • Proactively establishes and maintains cooperative, productive partnerships on current projects and deliverables, with additional guidance as needed.
  • Promotes the benefits of change and acts as a catalyst for change within the organization, as well as adapts to change imposed by others.
  • Prioritizes tasks to meet deliverables and commitments on time. Recommends alternatives/options to minimize any schedule delay.
  • Shares project experience/knowledge and mentors others across the corporation to help build project management skills.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$60,500.00-$117,500.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
