Based in Brisbane the Senior Finance Analyst is responsible facilitating the delivery of financial data analysis across the divisions with a key focus on establishing project costing, tracking and reporting processes and improving general financial reporting to the divisions through dashboards.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role are:
Develop systems and processes to manage and track projects on the technology investment roadmap.
Support preparation of business cases for projects on the technology investment roadmap
Project controlling and forecasting.
Assist in the preparation of financial reporting to Divisions and Cost Centres
Preparation and critical review of operating and capital forecasts as it relates to project funding in compliance with the overall budget.
Delivering financial and commercial information and concepts to various stakeholders
About You
As the ideal candidate, you will be an experienced Finance Analyst with strong systems skills in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and PowerBI. You will take pride in delivering on exceptional stakeholder management with your adaptable communication style and have a solution focused mindset.
You will have:
3+ years’ experience in Senior Business Analyst or Management Accountant role.
Tertiary level qualifications in Accounting/ Finance/Commerce or related disciplines
Experience with Excel, PowerBI and integrated ERP systems.
Previous experience in a similar Senior Business Analyst or Management Accountant role.
Demonstrated experience with interpreting business and project financial requirements to deliver efficient tracking and reporting processes.
Demonstrated expertise in financial data analysis and finance data management.
Demonstrated expertise in data sourcing, statistical modelling and analysing variances.
Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills with an ability to synthesize complex problems into simple and actionable directives.
Demonstrated experience in delivering financial and commercial information and concepts to various stakeholders.
Strong investigative, analytical, software and system skills

Key Accountabilities

Lead the development and review of Council’s Long-Term Financial Plan (LTFP) and the financial components of Council’s other Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) documents, including Asset Management Plans, , and annual Operational Plan.
Oversee the annual budgeting process including preparing budget estimates, monitoring financial performance and preparing quarterly budget reviews, and identifying, reporting and advising on variances, trends and outliers.
Provide financial advisory services to all Departments and Business Units in relation to financial management policies and procedures, financial system operations, budget preparation and management, financial planning to support business units to achieve long-term financial viability.
As an experienced finance professional (from either a government or private sector background) and leader of people, you will have a history of delivering sound financial organisational capability, building cultures that you and the organisation are proud of and being firmly focused on outcomes. As would be expected of such a role, well developed communication skills are essential as is the ability to develop effective partnerships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholder groups.
Lastly, it is expected that as well as being degree qualified in Finance or Accounting, you will be either CPA or CA accredited.
