This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. Position Summary Information





Job Description Summary
Under the supervision of the Director of Career and Professional Development (CPD), the Temporary Marketing Coordinator will support all marketing and communications efforts for the Office of Career and Professional Development. This position will be responsible for developing and delivering written and visual content in various media platforms to CPD audiences, including students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and parents/families. The position will collaborate with all members of the CPD team and other campus partners to ensure that all marketing and communications needs are met. The Temporary Marketing Coordinator will also supervise and train the marketing student workers.




Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications

  • Support the Office of Career and Professional Development's day-to-day marketing and engagement operations.

  • Supervise and train all marketing student workers. Ensure that all student worker deliverables and deadlines are met.

  • Coordinate all CPD email communications, including weekly newsletters and communications to students, alumni, employers, and parents.

  • Prepare marketing communications in a timely manner so that they may be reviewed by the CPD leadership before delivery to target audiences.

  • Use Handshake and Campaign Monitor to create and send email communications.

  • Develop marketing collateral including flyers, PowerPoint materials, signage, and other digital and printed materials to support the needs of the CPD team.

  • Use MS Planner and Projects to plan ahead, stay on task, and track progress of each project.

  • Oversee all CPD social media and digital marketing activities, including LinkedIn, Alumni Association official group, @chapmanucareer Facebook and Instagram pages, , and

  • Work closely with Data and Systems Analyst to make data-informed marketing and communication decisions by analyzing the KPI dashboards to assess usage trends, open and click rates, etc.

  • In collaboration with SMC's Web and Digital Media team, provide ongoing maintenance to the website, including all related subpages. Coordinate the annual CPD website review and updates.

  • Attend all Communication Council, SMC, and other marketing meetings on behalf of the CPD.

  • Contribute content to the University Editorial Calendar.

  • Other duties as assigned.






Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Excellent writing skills to compose correspondence, newsletters, marketing materials, and reports

  • Ability to provide administrative support with demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service and coordinating logistics of events

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to relate to, network and communicate effectively with diverse constituents

  • Strong organizational skills to collect data for events and workshops and to maintain accurate and orderly files

  • Ability to formulate and communicate policies and procedures for recruiting and internship programs

  • Analytical skills to identify and research information, analyze and resolve problems, assess alternatives and escalate concerns when needed

  • Technical skills to learn, implement, and use existing and new enterprise systems and departmental applications related to the position

  • Computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications

  • Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative in completing tasks and work well with team members

  • Aptitude to understand and consistently ensure compliance with university policies, state and federal rules and regulations, including FERPA and data privacy and security regulations






Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in creating effective and engaging content for a variety of social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with Cascade or other CMS

  • Experience with WordPress blogging tool

  • Experience with EMS email marketing services and campaign building tools (e.g., Campaign Monitor, Salesforce, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Chapman University policies and procedures
