    Position Overview:

    Astound Broadband is seeking a proactive Social Media Specialist to join our dynamic Digital Marketing team. The role is responsible for end-to-end editorial across Social Media handles: creative writing, photo and video curation, supporting integrated marketing campaigns and participating in strategic planning sessions. We're looking for a creative, self-motivated individual to serve as a liaison with the corporate and regional marketing teams. This position requires outstanding writing, excellent time management and solid organizational skills. The role reports to Sr. Manager, Social Media.

    Where you will work:

    • This individual may be based in Falls Church, VA, D.C. Metro area, or in any East Coast Astound Broadband market (Remote/Hybrid).

    A Day in the Life of the Social Media Specialist:

    • Take in multiple streams of assets from various sources, organize and ultimately transform them into cohesive, relevant and engaging Social Media and Web content.
    • Originate and maintain the Social Media content calendars by prioritizing the importance of assets and/or events (example: Product launches), as well as any ongoing and planned marketing initiatives on a national and local level.
    • Create and edit Social Media content to channel specifications. Content themes may include, but are not limited to: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, streaming entertainment, brand and partner priorities, and community. Support content approval workflows and scheduling process.
    • Champion the day-to-day YouTube channel process and support the overarching digital video strategy. Collaborate and work with peers on the evolution of video strategy, asset library and content curation.
    • Develop, maintain and organize digital creative assets (ie working creative files, graphics, footage) in brand image and video libraries.
    • Support the company's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives through cross-channel content curation and activation.
    • Actively participate in content planning sessions and bring forward original ideas, trends and/or current best practices.
    • Understand the company's Social Media Policy and observe user activity on our handles to ensure that Social Media channels are free of any abusive user behavior and spam activities.
    • Keep abreast of modern social media and digital marketing best practices, specifications and technical changes. Bring forward innovations for best social media experiences.
    • Take on BAU work with command, such that the team can grow collectively, to address launching large-national campaigns, strong PR/social media alignment/expansion and influencer campaigns.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    What You Bring to the Table:

    • 2-4 years' experience as a writer - journalism, blogging, writing web articles, PR, or other long-form writing for a mid/large sized Corporation.
    • 2-3 years' experience in hands-on social media management for a business. Personal social media use is not applicable.
    • 2-3 years' experience with digital or social media visuals production: static images, animations and/or video content creation.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in Project Management - working within fluid, fast-paced environments.
    • Experience in interpreting and following established brand guidelines.
    • Experience in Adobe CC or equivalent digital media/video editing tools.
    • Experience using Social Media Management & intelligence tools (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr, or comparable).
    • Experience in telecommunications/mobile/internet/technology industries a plus.
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills- multiple samples are required to demonstrate writing for web and social.
    • Must thrive working within fast-paced, innovative environment that requires a solid ability to manage multiple deadlines and to multi-task to ensure work is done on time.
    • An ideal candidate is a highly-organized individual with strong self-management ability, superb time management skills and an excellent attention to details.
    • Solid interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with remote teams and across department is required.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree required. Major in Communications, Business, Marketing, English or Media preferred.

    The base salary range in NY for this position is $60,000 - $72,000, plus opportunities for bonus and benefits, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, capabilities and geographical location.
