GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Marketing Director I is responsible for developing and directing a strategic marketing plan including attractive and effective strategies and tactics, and overseeing the execution to deliver the expected results for one or more lines of business. Position requires close alignment and collaboration with assigned line(s) of business and product teams to understand overall strategic objectives so that marketing plans can drive business outcomes.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in establishing strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate or divisional objectives.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget with business line. Provide feedback on an ongoing basis to LOB and Regional partners.
  • Develop and execute marketing programs to achieve stated objectives that may include revenue, profitability, market share, and/or customer experience measurements.
  • Work in collaboration with marketing and line of business partners to Develop marketing campaigns, which may include development of broadcast advertising, print, direct mail, social media, in-branch merchandising, electronic; includes both major campaigns and blitzes.
  • Manage short-term incentive campaigns associated with product drive, which includes the development of theme, communications, and measurements.
  • Oversee the development of product collateral and merchandising such as brochures, online content, ongoing POS system, Club 53, etc.
  • Support product launches and change communications.
  • Negotiate contract terms with outside agencies and suppliers.
  • Foster collaborative relationship with the Regional Marketing Directors and their respective teams.
  • Partner with outside advertising agencies on marketing strategies and execution of campaigns.
  • Analyze marketing programs and adjust strategy and tactics to increase effectiveness.
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor business development programs and sales incentives; responsible for recommending and coordinating necessary sales and product training support.
  • Support the company brand through adherence to branding guidelines.
  • Manage at least one person.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for fostering a culture of employee engagement by leading impact planning sessions; providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential by providing challenging opportunities; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field required, or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 or more year's experience in marketing/sales with three or more years of management responsibility.
  • Prior experience in marketing strategy and budgeting.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent PC skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of advertising mediums.
  • Prior financial/banking experience is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Previous experience managing people.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact well in a positive manner.
  • Work requires the ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of the practices and current issues of the organization preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
  • Extended viewing of CRT screen.
