Our Global Events team is comprised of passionate event marketers with backgrounds in building world-class, award-winning events that drive growth, build awareness, expand reach and create brand champions. The objective of the team is to craft customer-centric experiences through omni-channel marketing campaigns, and have a bit of fun while we do it!

We're hiring a Head of Proprietary Events, reporting to Head of Events. In this new role, you'll manage the development of a world-class proprietary event portfolio. It requires an experienced global events leader who is data-driven and passionate about being a people manager, and managing a team of 8+ full-time employees and contractors. You are well-versed in both digital and in-person events, experienced in program management, event strategy, measurement and managing event agencies. You are an master collaborator who can align our events to the broader event portfolio strategy, GTM objectives, and our brand.

This role is remote with travel, both domestic and international, anticipated up to 25% of the time.

  • You will lead the proprietary events team and build a world-class proprietary events portfolio that includes digital and in-person event campaigns. This portfolio includes our annual user conference, regional road shows, developer events and community led conferences.
  • You will collaborate with marketing, sales, field, and channel leaders to align event strategies with company vision, priorities, and target audiences, including the localization of strategies for regional events.
  • You will design event experiences that engage, educate, and entertain attendees while reflecting our values and showcasing our products.
  • You will develop operational structures and processes for efficient, flexible teamwork with global teams across Atlassian, including the creation of event frameworks and playbooks.
  • You will manage complex event budgets including revenue modeling, contract risk mitigations, attrition and forecasting.
  • You thrive in change and are agile and flexible leader, consistently addressing business strategy shifts or any challenges that arise during event planning cycles, ensuring quick and effective resolutions.


  • 12+ years of experience of enterprise technology event management experience
  • 8+ years of experience managing a team of 10+ full-time direct reports, both FTE and contractor.
  • A creative thinker with the ability to devise out of the box event experiences and attendee journeys.
  • Diverse experience in roles on both the corporate side and with event logistics or production agencies.
  • International project management experience including experience with localization, translation services, budgets with multiple currencies and international taxes.
  • Expertise in bringing team members together and helping manage teams through change.
  • Experience in omni-channel campaigns and lead generation activities specific to events.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $181,700 - $242,200

Zone B: $163,500 - $218,000

Zone C: $150,800 - $201,000

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
