Job Description

The Department of Mental Health, Central Mass Area (CMA) Office is seeking a highly organized individual to assist the Office Support Specialist in providing support to the Clinical Service Authorization Division in Worcester. This student intern will gain understanding of the DMH system and knowledge of human service agencies/resources offered throughout the CMA.

Note: This position is 40 hours per week, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with Saturday and Sunday off.

• Assist with incoming calls, take messages, return calls to applicants, and community liaisons.

• Share the responsibility of monitoring the Service Auth email inbox by responding to emails, printing applications and documentation.

• Data entry and report extraction.

• Assist with researching and following up on incomplete applications and records received.

• Fax requests for medical records.

• File, organize and purge medical records.

• Draft letters for signature

• Assist with the scanning applications and sending emails to designated staff at our five sites.

• General support for Clinical Service Authorization Specialists as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

A customer service focused individual with interest in mental health and human services.

An understanding of HIPAA

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency.

Period of Service:

May 28, 2024 through August 30, 2024

Additional Information:

Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals.

All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit.

The salary for this position is $18.00 an hour.

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
