We’re actively seeking a talented Enterprise Splunk Engineer to join our Tools team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site, or hybrid in our Newport Beach, CA Office.  
 
As a seasoned Enterprise Splunk Engineer, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by playing a key role in architecting and implementing enterprise IT Splunk solutions. 

How you will make an impact: 

  • Provide technical expertise in the enhancement of the Splunk architecture to meet standards and user demand.

  • Take a strong lead in decisions to improve the Splunk application infrastructure, including design of roles, access control, data segmentation, and general Splunk infrastructure.

  • Administer and Provide Splunk support for design, architecture, development, deployment, installation, configuration, integration, operation, and maintenance.

  • Perform onboarding of new data sources in Splunk ensuring proper data parsing and CIM compliance.

  • Oversee performance of processes related to Splunk, including data life cycle management, data stream maintenance, use cases, and data onboarding and normalization.

  • Deploy and maintain dashboards, reports, and alerts, as well as Splunk applications.

  • Document overall platform architecture and build runbooks for operational teams to follow.

  • Recommend innovative solutions to management and key stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership and support to deliver excellent service to end-users and provide efficient and effective event management.

  • Design and maintain processes and procedures to ensure consistency and continuity. 

  • Troubleshoot and plan permanent fixes to address the root cause of issues. 

  • Build detailed technical plans and designs related to Splunk to meet business and security requirements. 

  • Design, build, and maintain a Splunk roadmap that aligns with the technical direction of the organization and company. 

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and opportunities for automation or other enhancements. 

  • Assess and provide recommendations to improve root cause identification and response time for the Splunk service. 

The experience you will bring: 

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of professional working experience with Splunk analytics and experience in the design, development, integration, testing, and implementation of large-scale analytical data sets in Splunk.

    • 5+ years of working with SIEM platforms and other logging platforms in an enterprise IT environment.

    • Experience working with cloud-native services in AWS. 

    • Splunk certifications, such as Splunk Certified Architect or Splunk Certified Admin, are highly desirable.

    • Experience designing and building distributed Splunk Platform architecture.  

  • Experience designing custom Splunk Apps. 

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure. 

  • Understanding of business processes and the importance of change management.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both laterally and up to influence decisions and actions. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to work well independently or in a team setting.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$131,040.00 - $160,160.00
