Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the Director of Admission and Recruitment Marketing, the Generalist/Data Processing Clerk works as part of a team to enable the Office of University Admissions to meet its enrollment goals by processing inquiries, applications and documents quickly, efficiently and accurately. High-quality customer service is expected, as the Generalist/Data Processing Clerk will interact with prospective students and other constituencies. The Generalist/Data Processing Clerk will handle general admissions inquiries, applications and documents from all student populations (undergraduate and graduate). This position requires evening and weekend work. The incumbent will contribute to the success of the Office of University Admissions by performing all essential functions outlined below.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for accurately entering data for admission inquiries, applications and documents received, including daily maintenance of student record data (Slate).
- Provide general information by telephone, email and through in-person contact to prospective students, applicants and admitted students (undergraduate and graduate), as well as parents and other constituents.
- Prepare admission letters and other office mailings.
- Maintain student records in the Student Information System (Banner).
- Attend and assist with all on-campus and virtual recruitment events including Open Houses, information sessions, admitted students receptions, including evenings and weekends.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- High school diploma is required.
- A minimum of one year of office experience is required.
- Demonstrated computer data entry knowledge; demonstrated skills, preferably in the use of college administrative systems.
- Strong knowledge of customer service principles with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Availability to work weekend and evenings.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment, multi-task and take direction from others. Must be able to work well in a team environment and interact professionally with co-workers.
- Possess the ability to clearly and calmly communicate complicated information to prospective students and families.
- The ability to quickly adapt to new and changing software systems.
