Salary Range: $15 - $16/hour.

Hours: Up to 40 hours, non-exempt.

Essential Functions

Job Summary

Administratively coordinate programs and projects within the department.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the daily operations of the department front desk counter including but not limited to phones, emails, and other customer service duties as assigned.
  2. Responsible for assigned administrative phases of programs and projects, which may include research, data analysis, scheduling, and distribution of materials.
  3. Uses initiative and independent judgment to relieve one or more administrators of administrative matters and decisions about assigned programs and projects. Assists administrators in establishing and attaining departmental goals and objectives.
  4. Coordinates the implementation of programs. Researches new program ideas.
  5. Creates and processes electronic documents such as purchase orders, reimbursements, and travel.
  6. Collects data from various sources and analyzes for accuracy, completeness, and relevance. Prepares complex, statistical, technical, financial, and confidential reports, charts, and graphs.
  7. Schedules and coordinates activities in assigned programs and projects.
  8. Interacts with university departments, special groups, and external agencies to coordinate resources and communicate/market programs.
  9. Distributes program materials. Coordinates marketing and communication activities for the program. Edits speeches, memoranda, reports, and proposed publications.
  10. Promotes safety and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years of general administrative experience.
  • Standard office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Similar experience with two or more (2+) years in higher education.






Additional Information
  • This position is temporary, non-benefits eligible, with an expected end date of August 31, 2024. This position can be shortened or extended based upon department need and funding.
  • UTSA is a tobacco free campus.

Working Conditions
  • Office environment.

Physical Demands:
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.


This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
