The International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research are seeking a Scientific Content Coordinator.  

  • The Scientific Content Coordinator is an entry-level position responsible for coordinating volunteers, presenters, and attendees around the various deadlines in the scientific program production schedule to produce the scientific components of the General Sessions.  IADR/AADOCR is seeking a candidate who is a deadline driven individual who is detail focused, displays strong communication skills, and can work on many concurrent projects while maintaining superb customer service. The individual must be available for annual travel. A bachelor's degree is required.

This position is designated as management-level “exempt” under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and reports directly to the Director, Meetings and Scientific Content.

This position is hybrid and requires at minimum 50% of time spent in-person in Alexandria, VA.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Scientific Content coordinator is responsible for the various tasks related to completion of the scientific program, including, but not limited to:

  • Collection and organization of volunteer contact information.
  • Assign volunteer groups to their respective roles to facilitate efficient peer review.
  • Assist volunteers in completing tasks for their roles in the abstract collection platform.
  • Collect materials from other IADR departments to meet deadlines for the production of the scientific program
  • Assist Director in running various reports related to the scientific content of the annual meetings and related volunteers.
  • Provide onsite support for all meeting delegates.
  • Ensure correct set-up of meeting rooms onsite.
  • Review and production of public facing instructional materials.
  • Review and production of materials for volunteer groups integral to the creation of the scientific program.
  • Primary liaison between Regional/Divisional/Section organizers and the online abstract submission site
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Excellent customer service and oral & written communication skills
  • Proficiency in all components of Microsoft Office
  • Display a high level of detail and accuracy
  • Ability to travel up to 2 times per year
  • Association experience preferred
