Job Description

General Purpose of Job:

The HR Generalist is responsible for the delivery of exceptional support, assistance, and administration required to successfully execute key initiatives for Physicians Health Plan Human Resources department. The HR Generalist will act as the front line support for both Associates and Leaders with day to day questions related to hiring process, attendance, compliance concerns and other HR policies and initiatives. This position may also be responsible for working on projects or interim assignments in support of PHP talent initiatives.

Essential Duties

  • Collaborate and assist Director of People and Culture with high volume and hard to fill positions. Attend meetings with hiring managers to better understand the positions which they are assisting.
  • Source and identify candidates for a variety of assigned entry level positions.
  • Use all available technology to build a qualified candidate pool for available, and future, open positions.
  • Conduct telephone screens, interviews, educational verification and other assessments as required.
  • Coordinate calendars for scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinates calendars, meetings and meeting minutes for PHP HR.
  • Complete and oversee onboarding tasks are complete for each newly hired candidate ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and Hiring policies.
  • Maintains accurate records and timely updates all electronic resources documents including sharepoint, lawson, PPM, etc.
  • Provides support to HR and other PHP strategic initiatives by actively participating in projects such as survey preparation, strategic HR initiatives, policy review, etc.
  • Functions as the liason between Associates, Leaders and other work teams as needed based on the project or request received.
  • Supports Associate Relations issues/events and works with appropriate leaders to address and correct.
  • Coordinates and leads the PHP Orientation for new Associates
  • Support Associate Engagement initiatives by working as part of Staff Council.
  • Responsible for the reporting and communication of compliance reports.
  • Supports accreditation initiatives in relation to hiring and employee activities.
  • Coordinates learning activities through the administration of courses using our learning software.
  • Mentors and supports continued growth of the PHP Internship program.
  • Support projects or interim coverage needs in other key areas within the PHP group.

Job Requirements General Requirements Certification: PHP or SHRM certification preferred Work Experience Experience: HR generalist and or talent acquisition experience preferred Previous experience in a health plan organization preferred Education Education: * Bachelors Degree and one year HR experience OR Associates Degree and a minimum of 2 years HR experience OR HS Diploma and a minimum of 4 years HR experience Specialized Knowledge and Skills Skills & Abilities: * Demonstrated ability to build consultative, collaborative relationships with leaders and co-workers at all levels. * Demonstrated ability to identify and assess human capital needs. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Change management skills. * Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Demonstrated high level of confidentiality and discretion. * Excellent analysis and decision making skills. * Solid knowledge of employment laws and regulations governing HR programs. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Preferred: * PHR or SHRM-CP * Human resource generalist experience or labor relations experience in a unionized organization. * Previous experience in a health care organization.
