Commercial Credit Manager - Berrien Springs (Full-Time)

This is a Hybrid Work Eligible position. You will be required to come into the Operations Center in Berrien Springs, MI as needed to ensure business needs are met.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, coaching, scheduling, and directing the day-to-day activities of the Credit Analysts and Commercial Loan Specialists.
  • Oversees Business Services functions including loan analysis, renewals, annual reviews, and related collections activities.
  • Decisions loan requests within the designated approval authority as outlined in the business lending policy and provides recommendations in areas outside of their authority.
  • Works individual files as needed based on volume and complexity.
  • Actively seeks loan participation opportunities and provides analysis and recommendations on participations.
  • Ensures activities are conducted in accordance with the business lending policy and compliance standards.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field is required, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • Experience in commercial loan analysis required.
  • Extensive experience with loan workflow systems (Sageworks) and leadership experience needed.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial lending practices and procedures, analyzing business financial statements and assessing the viability of businesses.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to keep finances in order.
  • Ability to lead a high functioning team.
  • Ability to obtain cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • High level critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust.
