Job Description

Are you hardworking and ready to make a difference? We need you! We are hiring an IT Financial Analyst III – Information Technology to help manage our digital and technology finances at MSK. Join our team as we carefully and responsibly utilize MSK’s resources to build a better, stronger, and more durable MSK! Supporting the Digital Informatics and Technology Solutions (DigITs) division, you will be responsible for both internal divisional financial activities as well as tracking and reporting on IT spending outside the division. You will prepare, analyze, and report key financial information as well as provide expertise on building financial models and benchmarking analysis.

 

You Will:

  • Be able to navigate all MSK Financial Data Sources and related applications (e.g., Strata, COGNOS, BI Dashboards, ePlanning, CHM, etc.)
  • Manage ad-hoc data requests and ensure that reports are complete and accurate.
  • Investigate and provide ongoing analysis of business unit performance and highlight drivers of variances vs. budget and forecast.
  • Be an expert in building financial models and preparing related analyses.
  • Principal support for the overall consolidation and analysis of IT financials and performance.
  • Represent the IT Finance team as part of the greater MSK Finance community, ensuring deliverables are met and our team is represented at various workgroups and meetings.
  • Summarize data and analysis using MS Office Suite.
  • Assist with budget preparation, financial decision support, and analysis for ad-hoc projects/ initiatives.
  • Participate in ongoing development of financial reporting and analysis tools: help develop, support, and improve business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Work with both finance & non-finance departments to review results of analysis and develop rolling forecasts for the remainder of the calendar year including revenues, expenses, staffing FTE counts.
  • Support performance improvement processes & initiatives.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to learn new and grow existing technical skill sets with changing job needs.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of Finance/Budgeting/Accounting experience. Experience in Information Technology (IT) Finance or management a plus.
  • Experience with cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel including working with advanced functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial reporting tools and general ledger reporting systems.
  • The ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proven track record of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and analytical skills. Experience with Data visualization tools is a plus.
