Job Summary:
Serves as a key intermediary between Anderson Medical Group physician practices, third party billing company and leadership relative to the professional revenue cycle operations. This position will provide oversight and a single point of contact for the billing partner, and will assist with documentation of business processes and best practices. This position will be focused on revenue cycle improvement through the analysis of data, workflow observations, and monitoring of key performance indicators. Responsibilities include taking a proactive approach with physician practices related to identification of trends and issues impacting the professional revenue cycle. This position will analyze practice data and metrics to conduct root cause analysis when needed. This position will provide education via monthly/quarterly meetings or individual practice education, as well as, develop and maintain ongoing collaborative relationships with office managers and providers throughout the medical group. Job Responsibilities:
- Acts as a liaison/conduit and the main point of contact for the third party billing company.
- Identifies and implements physician revenue cycle processes, technology and training initiatives.
- Provides training for revenue cycle technology and processes to office managers.
- Serves as a project leader participating in data migration procedures and design as needed.
- Oversees revenue cycle technology in conjunction with Anderson’s Information Technology team and vendors.
- Works independently to identify revenue cycle opportunities to improve net revenue.
- Develops, implements, and monitors process improvement plans as necessary.
- Monitors key KPI’s (i.e. A/R, net revenue, denials) to ensure optimal revenue cycle performance. Takes necessary actions for resolution of issues as needed to prevent loss of net revenue.
- Serves as a resource for professional revenue cycle staff and will assist with problem solving and troubleshooting. Takes initiative with revenue cycle staff to research and resolve problems.
- Coordinates revenue cycle meetings in conjunction with billing group, i.e. monthly or quarterly professional revenue cycle meetings.
- Provides education to physician leaders and office managers to improve revenue cycle performance, i.e. review of denials or revenue improvement opportunities. Ensures that best practices revenue cycle processes are communicated and implemented where necessary.
- Assists billing company in maintaining open communication with distribution of monthly reports.
- Provides updates to Anderson Healthcare leadership regarding KPI’s, revenue cycle opportunities or projects that impact the professional revenue cycle. Escalates issues to leaders as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintains working knowledge of professional managed care contracts and provides education and training to providers and office manager.
- Assists in generating correspondence and reports, such as developing and maintaining spreadsheet tracking reports.
- Collaborates with the other Anderson entities revenue cycle operations as needed.
- Assists in special projects (i.e. lean process improvement) and miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: Bachelors - Healthcare management, information systems, or similar.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of revenue cycle operational experience in a healthcare organization. Prefer 5-7 years of experience in physician financial and revenue cycle analysis.
