About the Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Team Lead to join our 440 Manufacturing and Support line of business based at SA-Edinburgh Parks, reporting to the M&S Program Engineering Manager. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working an optional 9-day fortnight. You will be responsible for supporting mechanical production activities and processes within the Manufacturing business unit, with a focus on our soft metals machining workshop, ensuring engineering governance, managing operations, providing technical advice, resolving safety issues, driving continuous improvement, supporting bid assessments, offering design for manufacture guidance, and developing engineering management plans while fostering a community of Manufacturing Engineering SME's and providing leadership and support for production and new product introduction initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for both internal and external customers for products falling within the scope of authority. Provision of Engineering oversight for mechanical production activities and processes within the Manufacturing business unit focusing primarily on manufacturing activities and products produced by the Soft Metals machining workshop. Provide and ensure Engineering governance is applied across Soft Metals workshop machining and all related activities within the Manufacturing business unit. Manage the daily operations and priorities of the Soft Metals Manufacturing Engineering team within the Manufacturing Business Unit. Lead investigation and resolution of any Product Safety or Environmental Safety issues in relation to products and processes within the scope of authority. Lead and/or support bid feasibility assessments and the development of cost estimates. Lead engineering planning resources in the provision of support for all projects undertaken by M&S. Maintain visibility of emerging Manufacturing technologies and related opportunities in support of driving Continuous Improvement of manufacturing processes.
