Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Accounting Specialist. Primary Function: perform basic accounting functions including data entry, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts associated with the preparation of monthly financial reports.

• Accurately record, reconcile, and research discrepancies on various general ledger accounts.
  
• Collaborate with branches, departments and outside vendors to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  
• Assist in data gathering for internal/external audits and exams.
  
• Develop and maintain departmental procedures as necessary.
  
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  
• Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
  

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
• Associate's Degree Accounting preferred
• Minimum 1 Year Entry level general ledger reconciliation experience in lieu of an Undergraduate degree in Accounting experience required
