Finance Majors: You’re the Next Big Thing

Jobs in finance are on the rise, and finance majors can look forward to a career full of diverse challenges and options. By 2022, financial management careers are expected to grow by 14 percent, financial analyst careers by 23 percent and careers in financial advisement by 32 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Hiring of Class of 2013 Projected to Increase by 13%

Class of 2013 Who Is In DemandHiring will be up for new college graduates, according to a new report by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). NACE’s Job Outlook 2013 survey shows that employers anticipate hiring 13 percent more Class of 2013 college graduates than they hired from the Class of 2012.

“While employers are seeking graduates from a broad range of disciplines, this fall they expressed particular interest in hiring new graduates with business, computer science, and engineering-related degrees and are looking to college campuses to supply their hiring needs,” says Marilyn Mackes, NACE executive director.  (more…)

Top Earners Amongst 2011 Grads: Finance Major Working for Banks Started at $67,700

Top pay among Class of 2011 bachelor’s degree graduates went to finance majors landing financial manager positions with banks, according to a report published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE).

NACE’s Winter 2012 Salary Survey shows that the average starting salary for these graduates in this position and industry was $67,700. (more…)
