Start Early for Strategic Internship Planning

Why is September such a key moment? Simply because it is the most strategic month to prepare to apply for internships! Students are starting their semester, and by the end of September, we already recommend submitting unsolicited applications, preparing your resume, cover letter, and portfolio, and keeping an eye out for potential internship opportunities for January. The earlier students start, the better their chances of finding a relevant internship, as the best positions are often filled quickly.

Companies often recruit in advance and publish internship offers for the winter and summer as early as the fall. That’s why we always advise companies to get a head start: think about their needs, write their internship offer, and position themselves at the forefront to attract the best talent.

In our experience, the most popular internship periods are winter (January to April) and especially summer (May to August), but everything is decided in advance, starting in the fall. That’s when the next generation is prepared. The best interns may eventually be recruited for part-time or full-time positions during or after their studies.
