3 ways to create an attractive remote environment to graduate job seekers from DealDrop

College Recruiter recently asked employers for their tips on creating an attractive remote work environment. Here are three tips from James Crawford, Co-Founder of shopping vouchers website DealDrop.

  1. A graduate needs to know that if they take a remote position, they are going to have the same training and promotion prospects as office based colleagues. The hiring business must ensure that they have equal opportunities for all employees to advance their careers with suitable technology in place to afford remote employees any additional assistance required.
  2. Young people don’t want to feel isolated, measures should be available to ensure that the new employee can communicate with team members and leadership easily and effectively. A fun or social element should be included. This will provide the opportunity for the team to get to know each other and bond as a team.
  3. Appoint a mentor. The new employee will settle much quicker if they know they have someone they can rely on to help and advise their career path. An employee with experience can fulfill this role but they must be prepared to build a rapport with the graduate and be willing to provide any support required.
