Advice for Employers and Recruiters
Why Recruiting Diverse Candidates Matters to Employers
Diversity should not be ruled out when it comes to recruiting job candidates. Employers can achieve their goals in diversity by hiring people with different ideas and points of view who can relate to their clients and/or customers. A diverse workforce keeps workers more engaged and improves job performance.
To help explore these issues, College Recruiter is hosting a College Recruiting Bootcamp on LGBT and other diversity hiring issues on Tuesday, September 29th at the Twilio headquarters in San Francisco. Join us.
Prior to that event, we’ll publish the opinions from a number of talent acquisition and recruiting leaders about why and how employers should diversify their workforces. In today’s article, Rafael Solis of Braidio discusses the benefits of recruiting diverse candidates into the workplace.
“A lack of diversity breeds groupthink, which prevents companies from taking healthy risks. A lack of diversity not only does employees an injustice – customers are, in the end, also affected by this sluggishness. A diverse team provides an array of life experiences and worldviews, which will regularly produce a much-needed mix of new concepts and ideas. A diverse culture produces high levels of not only employee engagement, but also innovation and productivity.”
Rafael Solis is the co-founder, CMO & SVP of Product at Braidio, a cloud-based learning and talent development platform.
