Finding a job is a difficult and time consuming process. Knowing where to look, however, can make your job search more effective and less frustrating. These days where most searches are done online it is important to know where to look. Here are a few job boards you should be using to aid your search.

LinkedIn.

Having a well-structured and professional LinkedIn profile is very important here. Try to get as many endorsements as you can for your relevant skills. Ensure that you keep your personal life out of LinkedIn; your profile here should not read like your Facebook profile. LinkedIn offers advice on how to best complete your profile for all new users. It is the number one way to look for jobs since you will have access to not only company profiles but also their HR and upper management. This will allow you to reach out to them directly when applying for a job to ensure that you stand out.

Monster.com.

Monster is available in many different countries so make sure you are using the version built for you. It is free to use and allows you to choose your visibility levels when searching for jobs. You can also set up email alerts so that you know when a role you would be interested in opens up. The great thing about Monster is that they offer plenty of advice on how to improve your profile with resume and cover letter tips, interview pointers and negotiation skills.

Indeed.com.

Indeed is also available in many regions so ensure you are using the correct one. Indeed allows you to search for jobs based on a single theme. It can be your desired title or your ideal company. This makes it easier to streamline your search and look for exactly what is out there.

Glassdoor.

Glassdoor offers insight to the job market that is sometimes missing from the other sites. It allows users to share their salaries and interview experiences. This makes it easier for job seekers to prepare their own application and prep for their interview. It also allows you to be able to negotiate a better salary package once you know what the market averages are. They do not allow companies to edit or delete any of the user reviews or insights making it a reliable source of information.

College Recruiter.

College Recruiter is the leading niche job board that serves as an invaluable resource to connect grads and students to great careers. Job seekers can easily search for entry level jobs and internships by job title/keywords and location. They will also find quality, original and unique content to absorb while seeking their next career opportunities. Articles, blogs, videos, and other content cover employment related topics and more.
