William Frierson of CollegeRecruiter.comWhat career do you want to have? Not all of us may be sure exactly, but that’s okay. Choosing a career is a big decision, and you should take your time. However, there are steps that can move you in the direction of finding a new career:

Know yourself– Consider taking a career and/or personality test. One or both of these tests may help you better understand who you are and the opportunities available to you.

Explore passions– What do you like to do in your leisure? Think about the things you enjoy and how they could be beneficial to an employer. Get a foot in the door through an internship, or by even volunteering your service.

Make the application process your full-time job– This includes building a quality resume (which emphasizes your skills, experience, and qualifications), researching companies and positions, preparing for interviews, etc. Believe it or not, all of your hard work will eventually payoff.

Even if you don’t know what your future career is, there’s a path to it. Take some time to learn about yourself, and find your niche in the workforce.
