Is a Career as an Occupational Therapist Right for You?

Some college students have difficulty choosing their careers; however, if you are looking for a career where you can help people, then you should consider studying to become an occupational therapist. Occupational therapists work with their patients to improve their ability to perform tasks for work, such as using a computer, and in their everyday lives, such as cooking or eating. Patients may include people who have been injured or people who have mental or physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy. Their patients can be very young – infants – very old, or somewhere in between.
Occupational therapists can work in schools, nursing homes, hospices or home health care. They can also specialize, choosing to work with patients of a specific age group or with a particular disability. Continue reading …
