LSU is one of a few schools in the U.S. to have an undergraduate degree in political science. LSU’s School of Art and Design gives students and faculty opportunities to work with blueprints for redevelopment, design schoolyards, and build homes in New Orleans. Full-time faculty members represent 88% of all faculty at LSU, with 66% being tenured and 85% holding their PhDs or terminal degrees.
Louisiana State University’s athletic teams compete in the NCAA and the Southeastern Conference. The school has one of the most successful athletic programs, having won 45 national championships in nine different sports and 113 Southeastern Conference titles. There are 17 residence halls, with architectural styles available to students, ranging from renaissance to modern.
