Stay Positive During Job Search

Hey everybody! I ran across some good information about the job search process that I thought would be beneficial to a lot of us. A career expert says that if our job search needs a boost, we need to sit down, relax, and carefully analyze our situation. Question everything you are doing, but be careful not to ask yourself the “wrong” questions, which might damage your career health.
For example, he says don’t ask questions like, “Why can’t I find a job? Why won’t anyone hire me?”

These “why” questions will cause us to give our brain excuses as opposed to answers, such as you’re too old, too young, too experienced, or too stupid, etc. Of course the last one is not true, right? No one is stupid! Some things you have no control over like your age, which leads you to be frustrated.
This career expert says to make yourself powerful when breaking down your job search by asking “how”questions.
For instance, “How can I generate one networking lead today? How can I meet someone at the company I would like to work for?”
These “how” questions lead us to take action such as calling that old friend from high school or college, someone you worked with previously, or maybe a neighbor who has contacts at the place you want to be employed.
We all just might see a difference in our job search by seeing things in a more positive way.
Speaking of the job search, what does everyone think about trade magazines. Any feedback would be appreciated! 🙂
