Searching For the Right Job

This is in response to my last entry. I have applied to so many jobs, not just locally, but out of state as well. I use the Internet, the newspaper, I make calls to businesses, I ask family and friends about jobs, I search the yellow pages of the phone book, used my career center at college, and used the Career Link in order to find a job. (not to mention any other method I come up with) I am a graduate with a degree in writing. I have applied to jobs for various positions such as proofreader, copy editor, writer, creative writer, underwriter, administrative assistant, secretary, receptionist, just to name a few.
I have tried applying to jobs with what little of a link I could find between them. One name that I never thought of using in my searches or even applying at a company to do is, a fact checker as was mentioned in response to my posted message a few days ago. Now in my searches, I will add this to my list.
I have applied to places within my area and out of my area that aren’t even hiring. I email, call them, or visit the location if not too far away to see if the positions are still available and that I am still interested in working for their company. Then I get depressed when I hear that the position has already been filled or when I don’t receive an email or telephone call back at all. I keep in touch regularly. I have tried everything I could think of when applying for jobs. I would like to have more interviews, at least.
I would be happy with a position at a job that would have even something little to do with my major, but I’m finding it hard to find when so many jobs require years of experience and all I have is a few months. What happened to entry-level positions. How am I supposed to get experience if companies won’t give it to me?
