HVAC Service Worker - West campus Arizona State University Facilities Management ASU West Campus: West   40577BR   Job Description: Facilities Management, West campus, seeks an HVAC Service Worker who will assist all trades (Stationary Engineer Sr., HVAC and Energy Management) within the Central Plant.   Salary Range: To be determined    Close Date: 09-April-2018   Essential Duties: Assist with repair and maintains heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment. Test malfunctioning systems and component. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and system. Remove defective equipment and/or parts. Maintain preventative maintenance and related records. Assist mechanics with installations and/or repairs. Clean and flush cooling/heating coils. Climb ladders, stairs and work in high locations. Lift and carry objects up to 75 pounds. Drives University vehicle.   DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Friday; 6:30 am to 5:00 pm.   Minimum Qualifications: Two years of HVAC experience; OR, Completion of a one-year training program in the repair and maintenance of air conditioning equipment AND one year of HVAC experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.   Desired Qualifications: Experience in: •maintenance and/or repair of HVAC systems •performing preventative maintenance routines •customer service     Evidence of EPA 608 Universal Chlorofluorocarbon Certification. Effective verbal and written communication skills.   Working Environment: Utilize hand tools (e.g. pliers, wrenches, screw drivers, hammers, grips, cutters, saws). Utilize power tools (e.g. drills, generators, saws, lifts, vacuum equipment). Climb ladders, ladder wells, and stairs. Work off ladders using hand tools and power tools to include working off lift platforms and boom trucks at heights above six feet. Use lifting, moving, and rigging equipment to safely move, transfer, or relocate heavy equipment. May handle CFC refrigerant. Work in adverse working conditions such as confined spaces (e.g. tunnels, man holes, vaults), dirty areas, low lighting, and extreme temperatures. Stoop, bend, and reach. Walk throughout campus. Lift up to 75 pounds. Drive University vehicles.
