Performs diagnostic quality imaging procedures for patient population care and participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. 


  • Associate's degree and satisfactory completion of an American Medical Association approved school of radiologic technology


  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment


  • 2 years of technical experience

  1. Operates technical equipment related to patient care imaging, image processing, image transmission and archiving, computerized radiology information system, and other information management systems deemed necessary to department operation or Children's Healthcare of Atlanta goals. 

    Physician practice only:

    Perform patient intake process including height/weight, vital signs, and intake questionnaires.

    Initiate pregnancy screen

    Modify x-ray orders based on Children’s Diagnostic Routine Protocols

  2. Assists physicians with administration of contrast media during fluoroscopy and operative procedures.
  3. Demonstrates consistent proficiency in performing all types of radiologic examinations.
  4. Demonstrates consistent ability to perceive details in radiographs to determine acceptability of exposure.
  5. Participates in achievement of organizational and department goals.
  6. Attends all required system and departmental educational opportunities.
  7. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion at all times, keeping radiographic rooms stocked with needed supplies on a daily basis and reporting shortages to team leader. 
  8. Demonstrates competencies that incorporate age-specific guidelines, including N = Neonate (less than 30 days), I = Infant (30 days to 1 year), EC = Early Childhood (1-5 years), LC = Late Childhood (5-13 years), A = Adolescent (13-17 years), AD = Adult, and ALL = all ages.
  9. Includes family/caregiver in patient care and provides effective education appropriate for learning needs of patient and family.
  10. Provides proof of ARRT and CPR certification renewals within 30 days of expiration.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
