Job Description:

Systems Engineers are technical professionals with the education, experience, and domain knowledge to perform MILSATCOM-related system engineering tasks. Functional areas include: general system engineering, requirements development and validation, architecture development, interface development, test and verification and risk management. In addition to technical responsibilities, Engineers perform engineering management tasks such as planning, scheduling, reviewing and coordinating technical activities. Domain knowledge includes but is not limited to: satellite communications, communications payloads, software development, mission planning, mission control, terminals, gateways, space vehicle engineering.

Job Duties Responsibilities
- Elicit and capturing stakeholder needs in models
- Develop and extend system models using existing requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents
- Provide MBSE/SysML expertise and related support to the entire systems engineering team
- Integrate models to modern requirements management, architecture, and systems engineering software
- Participate in converting from document-based to model-based architectures, participate in refactoring of existing models
- Interface with customer.


Required Skills

Active Secret Clearance
- Intermediate/Advanced Model-based engineering tool skills including knowledge and formation all SysML diagrams types and their interaction and application, and a tool to implement them such as Sparx EA
- Intermediate C/C++, C#/Java, JavaScript or VB Object-oriented programming (OOP) language skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Products
- Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills.


- Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and task assignments involving systems engineering, development and integration activities (System-V), with emphasis on space systems.

Required Experience
- BS in Engineering/Physics/Math disciplines
- 5+ years experience in modeling with MBSE and architecture frameworks
- 10+ years broad technical and managerial experience, including architecture development & analysis in relation to an acquisition processes
- Active Secret clearance required.

Preferred Experience:
- MS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in communications
- Experience with MBSE modeling, preferably Enterprise Architect or similar
- Experience with software processes/scripts to automate modeling tasks
- Experience with data bases, preferable MySQL or similar
- Experience with SATCOM systems, preferably MILSATCOM
- Experience working with commercial and government customers o Familiarity with DoD/SMC acquisition process
- INCOSE systems engineering professional certification, either as a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP)
