Post Doctoral Fellow (Physics)

Post  Doctoral Fellow

A&S Department of Physics

UNIVERSITY of CINCINNATI

The experimental particle physics group at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Belle and Belle II experiments. The UC Belle group plays a leading role in Belle physics analysis, and played a major role in constructing the optics for the barrel particle identification detector of Belle II. We are now preparing for physics analysis on Belle II, which is scheduled to begin taking data in 2018.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A Ph.D. level physicist with a strong record of research in experimental particle physics. We are especially interested in individuals with experience in data analysis and a strong interest in flavor physics. The successful candidate will be stationed partially at the experiment at the KEK laboratory in Japan and is expected to play a leading role in the Belle II detector commissioning, data analysis, and mentoring of students.

The initial appointment will be for two years and is renewable, subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to play a leading role in a forefront experiment.

Interested and qualified candidates must complete our online application process at https://jobs.uc.edu (Search for Requisition #25465).  In addition to the application, a cover letter,  statement of research interests, current curriculum vitae and list of publications will be requested in PDF format during the application procedures. Questions may be directed to Professor Alan Schwartz at [email protected]  Candidates must also arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent to [email protected], noting “Belle II Postdoc Position” in the subject line.

We will begin reviewing applications as they are submitted, and will continue until the position is filled.
