Great opportunity for a Filed Service Technician located in Las Vegas NV for a company creating a better tomorrow by energy-efficiently converting power into motion.
Primary job duties for this position include; start-up, testing, commissioning, preventative maintenance, upgrades and modernization on low and medium voltage switchgear as well as automatic transfer switches using specified test equipment.
As a Field Service Technician you will:
- Develop and manage predictive and preventative maintenance programs for our installed based customers in Las Vegas and surrounding area.
- Perform all aspects of assigned field service work including site investigation, equipment installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of power distribution, control and automation systems.
- Completion of assigned project field activities on time and meet customer functional requirements.
- Work in close collaboration and cooperation with the local field service office
- Build, develop and maintain exemplary customer and vendor relationships while maintaining a high level of quality and technical service.
- Provide detailed and timely follow-up to customer requests.
- Ability to track and submit project reports in a timely manner (Field Reports and Expenses).
- Adhere to written standard testing and maintenance procedures for breaker, switchgear, relay, control and automation equipment testing.
- Recommend design modifications of equipment and provide instruction for installation.
- QA review of engineering drawings
You will need the following to succeed:
- 5+ years of hands on experience in preventative and predictive maintenance of power distribution and control equipment or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced understanding of industrial control equipment (metering, protective relaying, relay ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs and HMIs).
- Experience to include installing, maintaining, testing, & repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar electrical, control and automation equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable health, safety, and electrical (CSA/NFPA/UL) regulatory codes and standards.
- Self-directed learner motivated and driven to take initiative towards their education and development in electrical power and distribution field services.
- Must have general PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Word, Excel and OneNote as well as ability to use a smartphone to perform daily work tasks.
- Basic understanding and ability to interpret detailed electrical schematics & mechanical drawings.
- High level of attention to detail with a strong ability to implement.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to lead independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in remote locations
*Position will require travel. Company will provide a fleet vehicle and company credit card
Pay rate starting at $35hr-$55/hr. DOE
