Description

The candidate application data is kept on the career site servers and sent en-mass back to the Workday tenant when the user clicks submit on the last step. Once the user hits submit, we make POST requests with that data to multiple REST end-points sending the job application back to the Workday tenant). The system will clear out / time out after 60 minutes of inactivity (for records that were not submitted back to Workday)

As the Buyer, Subcontracting, your main purpose requires you to be responsible for parts and consumable purchasing for selected suppliers with specific responsibility for engineered to drawing items. Also, you will negotiate and place orders, approve invoices while maintaining records within guidelines. Interacting with supplier to insure quality and performance measurements and goals are met. You may be required to audit suppliers for capabilities and compliance ability with Valmet requirements. On a day to day basis, you are the main contact for suppliers for all requirements of manufactured parts and may be requested to travel on-site. You will prepare, issue, and follow up on inquiries and purchase orders within ERP system. You also monitor supplier performance on quality, costs, deliveries, and lead times and are responsible for improving quality and reducing costs on products purchased. Monitor process performance and competency to process requirements including those related to health and safety.

What you’ll need

To be successful in this role, you ideally posses Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Engineering is preferred or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or two to six years’ experience in purchasing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additionally, knowledge of castings, foundries, ASME, and gear drives are a benefit. Computer skills and ERP experience are a must. You are able to solve supplier problems in a fast paced environment with competing priorities. You excel at negotiating and communicate well to develop strong interpersonal relationships. Self-directive, motivated and flexible also describe you.
