Analyst I - Reporting

The incumbent will work with representatives from various business units in mortgage servicing. The successful candidate will deliver comprehensive reports and analysis to various business units which demonstrate the benefit of existing or new business processes. The candidate will be required to extract data from multiple sources and formats (SQL, SSIS, and MS Office) and develop complex reports to be delivered to senior management.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with business partners to develop and maintain business performance reports, dashboards, and analysis.

2. Provide analytical support to the business and external clients on an as-needed basis.

3. Validate business processes and controls.

4. Assist management with process analysis.

5. Provide performance metrics to management, external clients, governmental agencies, auditors, and rating agencies.


Job Specifications:

1. BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

2. Experience and demonstrated ability and knowledge of Microsoft SQL or other relational database structures.

a. Understanding of: Inner and outer joins, CASE, GROUP BY, HAVING, aggregate functions, date math, string or text manipulation, temporary tables (CREATE, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE).

b. Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MS SQL Server Reporting Services a plus.

c. Interpreting and supporting reports and code written by other team members for analytical support and updates as required.

3. Experience with Microsoft Office application including demonstrated skills in Excel.

a. Understanding of: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, IF, SUMIF, COUNTIF, Array Formulas, date math, and weighted averages

4. Experience creating reports and validating analysis a plus.

5. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and results to an audience without a similar technical background.

6. Detail oriented and highly self-motivated.

7. Ability to monitor industry trends, take initiative, and manage projects from start to finish.

8. Ability to handle stress, multiple projects with competing interests for time and meet demanding deadlines.

9. Knowledge of the mortgage servicing industry is a plus.
