Über uns The Institute of Spatial and Regional Planning, IREUS, announces the following position for the earliest possible entry date: Academic Associate (m/f/d) (fulltime) Spatial Planning and Risk and Environmental Management The position is temporary for three years with the opportunity of extension. Aufgaben Tasks: Support the final phase of the RESI-extreme II project and coordinate the implementation of the LURCH project on resilient spatial and urban development and the consideration of ground water issues in urban and regional planning in Germany Lead the analysis of tools to support climate resilient urban development in the context of heavy precipitation events and flooding (RESI-extreme II project – final phase) Lead the examination of planning documents and tools in terms of the consideration of ground water quality and land-use (LURCH project) Participation at project meetings Documentation of project meetings and research Support of lectures and classes – especially in the field of spatial and environmental planning Support of statistical analysis Lead the design and development of workshops with stakeholders Support and collaboration for scientific reports and publications Willingness to travel nationally and internationally Profil Your profile: The successful candidate has to hold a master or diploma (MA or Dipl.) degree or bachelor degree (BA) in the fields of spatial or regional planning, geography, environmental protection, urban planning or architecture, construction engineering and has the additional capabilities: Experience to work in teams Experience in environmental and spatial planning issues Experience regarding environmental issues, water management and land-management and/or urban /spatial development Experience with the implementation of research projects is beneficial Knowledge regarding the concepts of sustainable development and climate resilience Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods Experience with the analysis of data (e.g. GIS and statistical programs Knowledge in the fields of spatial and/or urban or environmental planning is required Experience with the organization of research projects is an advantage.
