Responsibilities of this Role
To perform routine analytical analysis (HPLC, IC, ICP, titrations, etc.) for various production and customer support samples
To summarize analytical data and assist Lab Supervisor in preparation of the reports
To develop, validate and implement new analytical methods
To develop, implement and update SOPs.
Work in accordance with ISO-17025 and ISO 9001 requirements.



Work Environment
The work is mainly done in the lab, but partial work in the office is required
Must apply and follow all Safety and Health related company and lab policies.



Skills and Qualifications
Minimum requirement is a Chemical BSc. In Chemistry or equivalent
3 years of lab working experience in a related field are required to perform the functions of the position
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills in English are required
3 years of work experience must be in a chemical analytical laboratory. The incumbent will have experience in laboratory safety, semi-quantitative / quantitative sample preparation and analysis for various analytical techniques.
Experience with Ion Chromatography (IC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), various wet chemistry tests, and a general knowledge of spectrophotometry is a significant asset.
Ability to work in accordance with ISO-17025 or GMP/GLP
Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook is required



Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of basic microbiology is an asset.
Proficiency with LIMS systems would be an asset.
Experience in chromatographic and other techniques method development is an asset.
The incumbent must be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, a good communicator (both written and oral) and results oriented.
Good time management, troubleshooting / problem solving skills and an ability to interact with a variety of personnel as part of a team are a definite asset.
