Up to a $20,000 Sign on Bonus for RN's with 1yr Exp in Specialty Dept (prorated by FTE- min 0.6 FTE required); Lump sum payment within 30 days of start) Experienced RN's with at least 1 year of Emergency Room experience. Must be new to VMFH. 2 year commitment

Job Summary

Charge Nurse serves as a leader and clinical resource to staff under the direction of nursing leadership. Collaborates with the primary RN or team leader to ensure the planning and delivery of quality patient care in partnership with physician, interdisciplinary team and patient/family. Acts as a role model, demonstrating technical/clinical competence consistent with the needs of staff and the patient population served. Assists staff with problem solving and decision making.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
* Two years of experience in the clinical specialty within the last three years preferred.
* Prefer previous charge nurse experience.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within sixty days of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.
* Current Healthcare BLS Certification.
* Completion of a NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) class is required at sites that do not provide labor and delivery services within twelve months of date of hire and must be maintained as current thereafter.
* Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within twelve months of date of hire. Certification must be maintained as current thereafter.
* National Institutes of Health Strokes Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of date of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.
* Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within twelve months of date of hire. Certification(s) must be maintained as current thereafter.
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and/or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
