Who You Are

As Engineer Trainee, you will work to develop into an LCS Professional through exposure to the company's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and concepts.

This Position

Some examples of the work you might do includes:

* Prepares and interprets blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, project specs, and other visual aids.
* Understands and quantifies every piece of equipment and material on a project.
* Prepares and analyzes material and labor reports, in conjunction with key stakeholders.
* Develops skills in HVAC load calculation methods, duct/piping/plumbing design, energy modeling, equipment selection, temperature controls, acoustics, and other areas of mechanical construction.
* Performs HVAC piping, sheet metal, and plumbing takeoffs using EstMep.
* Enriches knowledge of electrical coordination in the HVAC equipment selection process.
* Produces redline drawings for 3D modeling for design-build projects, as needed.
* Develops working knowledge of relevant systems, such as Revit, Navisworks, and Autocad.
* Spends time at an allocated construction branch to learn about and support local efforts.
* Maintains a safe working environment and encourages the safety of others, especially at job sites.
* All other duties as assigned.

What You Need

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (or equivalent) required.
* Familiarity with CAD tools and general engineering principles.
* Working knowledge of computer programs for spreadsheet calculations and word processing.
* Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
* Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, as business needs dictate.
* Ability to effectively work solo and within a team in order to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous A/E/C internship experience preferred.

Work Environment:

* This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, and printers.
* Work duties may also necessitate visits to/walk throughs of local job sites, which means intermittent exposure to outside weather and conditions/hazards typically associated with a construction site.

Physical Demands:

* In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
* This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
