Job Summary:

Perform general duties of a Scale Helper in the Non Ferrous area of the yard.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Providing excellent customer service
* Accurately identifying, weighing and pricing various types of metals
* Properly sorting metals and placing them in their appropriate location(s)
* Learning and adhering to all applicable recycling laws
* Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment
* Obtaining all required photos and information before completing transactions

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must:

* Have a high school diploma or GED
* Have an excellent attendance record
* Stay busy and productive throughout their shift
* Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
* Accommodate a flexible work schedule, including work on Saturdays
* Maintain a professional appearance & attitude
* Have basic knowledge of computers

In addition, a qualified person must have the:

* Ability to speak and understand English - Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
* Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Ability to work on his/her feet for most (if not all) of their shift
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to pass mobile equipment certification
* Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, correspondence, memos, etc.

Work Environment:

The position requires the employee to work outdoors, which at times can/will expose the worker to various weather conditions, including heat, cold and rain.
