Job Title- Vertical Head- Industrial Designer

Job purpose & Scope -

To develop concepts and designs for our products.

Major Areas of Responsibilities & Authorities -

• Meeting with various departments (marketing, SCM, Sales, QA, CC etc.) to establish the design brief, including the concept, performance and production criteria
• Working on ideas as part of a team or developing design concepts using CAD (computer-aided design)
• Taking part in specialist or multidisciplinary team meetings
• Sketching initial design ideas
• Identifying the suitability and availability of materials
• Producing detailed, final drawings and specifications using dedicated computer software (CAD Creo) to produce design specifications, including parts lists
• Making samples or working models by hand or using computerized prototyping equipment;
• Testing the design concept by computerized modelling or physical hands-on testing of models
• Evaluate the product to understand its design, market research, user research, collaborate with market research team
• Researching materials, processes or market requirements;
• Arranging meetings and liaising with engineers and other departments, including marketing, to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes, usability aspects
• Travelling to clients' production facilities and evaluating the feasibility of production
• Making presentations to senior design management to present design proposals

Desired Qualification: Mechanical Engineering background an added advantage

Experience: 14+ years (Team handling experience)

Industry Preference: Experience in consumer space is desired
