Shipping Clerk - Days

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm

The hourly wage for this position is $18.88 to $19.66.

Sign On Bonus - $2,000

This highly visible position is located at our Ridgefield, WA Facility.

What you'll do:

This position will be responsible for performing a variety of routine shipping and receiving tasks including comparing identifying information on incoming or outgoing shipments with purchase orders, invoices, or other documents.

Essential Functions:

* Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).


* Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.


* Complete and verify outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.


* Complete shipments through picking cased product and or palletized cases for customer orders via Swisslog Warehouse Management System (WMS).


* Follow established procedures to report discrepancies.


* Locate and pull product and materials to be shipped and verify shipping documentation accuracy.


* Ensure oldest product is pulled first by following First In First Out (FIFO) guidelines.


* Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or other identifying shipping information on cartons (UPC's, EDI's, master case labels, etc.).


* Place identifying information or shipping instructions on crates or containers.


* Post weights when needed.


* Route items to proper shipment location (UPS shipment to UPS desk, pallets to staging area, etc.)


* Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.


* Notify supervisor to check outgoing shipments for accuracy.


* Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.


* Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from storage or work area.


* Ensure work area is kept clean and organized.


* Perform other duties as assigned.



What you'll need:

* High school diploma or GED plus one (1) year work experience and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job.


* Forklift experience is required.


* Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.


* Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.


* Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.


* Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.


* Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.


* Ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic.


* Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.


* Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.


* Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.


* Knowledge of powered industrial equipment operation and ability to obtain applicable certification.


* Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment, which includes 525+ items, 25+ co-workers, and related material handling equipment (MHE).


* Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.


* Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.


* Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire; perform moderate physical activity which requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; and perform work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
