Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Associate Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the activities of assigned team of engineers to plan, direct and coordinate engineering functions to include aligning staff to support product design, production demands as well as analyzing part manufacturability of the product lifecycle, following established procedures and approved processes. Responsible for the safe manufacture of company products which may represent a broad diversity of manufacturing processes. Responsible for satisfying all quality and productivity requirements in a most cost-effective manner.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

* Managing engineering designs and ensuring they meet project requirements
* Reviewing and facilitating design concepts
* Delegate to direct reports or teams to accomplish goals
* Develop and deploy engineering metrics
* Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job
* Work with other Department Managers/Supervisors to coordinate and align directorate operations and activities to meet goals
* Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and resources to meet goals
* Champion Six Sigma and facilitate lean initiatives
* May occasionally lead and perform special projects

Required Skills:

* Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality controls, environmental standards, and costs
* Understand/use techniques for effective control of delivered quality, cost, and schedule in the manufacturing of Aerospace products
* Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models; Knowledge of machines, tools, and tooling
* Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting, material, and equipment resource allocation; leadership and teaming; and production methods
* Familiar with lean manufacturing work area practices including 6-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes and able to instruct others in these practices
* Consider costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

Required Experience:

* 5+ years' experience as a Design Engineer in Aerospace
* 5+ years of experience in a leadership role

Level of Education:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $120000 to $140000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
