Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 2 - 4 times per week at the Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, NC.

GM Motorsports Competition Engineering is directly developing IndyCar tools in support of our Chevrolet powered race teams. We are seeking a Team Support Engineer to use GM created simulation and support tools to work with various Chevrolet teams on improving simulation correlation and operating at the DiL simulator. This is a very fast paced environment of supporting race teams during test and development work to find vehicle performance. There would be some support travel required. Long days at race events are continuous and in the 12 to 16-hour range. Being able to operate and communicate under extreme pressure and short timelines is critical as you become a key member of the Chevrolet IndyCar Team.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Background in Motorsports support and experience in reducing and presenting large complex sets of data is required. Race vehicle simulation experience is preferred. Technical communication skills and a good knowledge of the English language (both spoken and written) is essential. Report generation and presentation will be regularly required. The ability to work collaboratively with the various members of the program teams will be a critical skill for this position. We will expect you to be capable of thinking analytically, be customer-focused, and be highly structured with excellent relationships and communicative skills. You must be able to multi-task in a dynamic constantly evolving environment and bring a strong work ethic and integrity.

* Ability to balance multiple programs efficiently

* Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed

* Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment

* Participation in professional racing is preferred

* Strong knowledge of Motorsports preferred
