Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking to hire a Conventional Machinist - in Burbank, CA for 1st Shift.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. * Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

* Maintains specification by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning, facing and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

* Calculates machine speed and feed ratios, and the size and position

* Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

* Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs.

Minimum Requirements:

* Experience:
* 5 years' experience in general machining

* Experience using measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, and/or air gauges

* Knowledge / Skills :

Able to operate:

* Drill press

* Manual lathe

* Punch press machine

* Tumbler/de-burr machine

* Grinder

* CNC lathe machining experience a plus.

* Education / Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.

* Eligibility Requirement : This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions

* Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, heel straps, and shop coats

* Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed

* Requires lifting 25 lbs

Special Work Conditions:

* Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

* Eligibility requirements include U.S. nationals or permanent residents (Green Card).

Salary range: $21.19/hr to $27.30/hr. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more.
