The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation is seeking a Mechanical Maint & Operations Techn II to coordinate the work of employees and performs work in the maintenance and operation of air conditioning systems, heating systems, refrigeration systems, ventilation systems, electrical systems and associated equipment; performs other duties as required.

The duties of this position include:

* Coordinate the work of employees and performs the actual duties involved in the installation/repair/maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
* Inspect and ensure the performance of operating systems and equipment, such as equipment used by the cafeteria, etc.
* Make recommendations for changes in maintenance and operational procedures.
* Maintain the facility's sewage treatment plant by performing necessary treatments through the addition of chemical compounds to maintain plant operations, performing monthly sewage sample test, maintaining records related to operation of the sewage treatment plant, and attending training required to obtain/maintain required licenses and permits to operate plant.
* Inspect and make repairs to the auxiliary power equipment.
* Serve as fire security during lunch on a rotating basis. Respond to fire alarms and assists in securing facility.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of experience in the maintenance or repair of air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.



Working Conditions

May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
