Position : Integration Developer(Manager)

Location : Europe/South Africa/India

Position Purpose :

Define, design, and implement major parts of the software integration and event queuing architecture for the IT team in tight collaboration with product management and engineering team members, keeping close contact with CHEP business teams working on IT Supply Chain Solutions.

•The work performed is on all levels of detail from architectural design, the review of individual code elements to integration modelling and component design with the intent to build a valuable application that is embedded in the fabric of business applications run by Brambles

Measures :

This position is responsible for researching technologies, analyzing and designing frameworks, and building and maintaining supply chain applications for the digitization of Brambles and as services to improve the supply chains of Brambles’ customers.

•The success and viability of these applications depends to a large extent on a well-defined modular and layered architecture, with corresponding semantic concepts, especially considering the long lifetime of the systems built and the evolving nature of the requirements.

Major/Key Accountabilities :

Develop future-proof technical designs for complex enterprise software

•Give technical guidance for specific software development projects while keeping the big picture across projects in mind.

•Establish technical priorities and strategies consistent with business goals and economic viability

•Research options and propose software designs that solve immediate needs of the organization while including new and emerging technologies and anticipating future changes.

•Successfully delivery of detailed technical designs across multiple integrated technologies and platforms, in accordance with stage gates, milestones, and business objectives: This includes conceptual work, reviews, trouble-shooting, and coding.

•Work closely with EA teams to ensure organizational alignment of strategies

Challenges/Problem Solving :

•Working with multiple geographies to deliver projects and products.

•Working with cross-functional business and technical teams.

•Managing vendor relationships

•Preparing documents for EA review

Authority/ Decision Making :

•Decide on technology and assure implementation under time and resource constraints

•Support a world-class software development team

•Be a key player in a matrix environment with complex dependencies within the IT team

•Lead by example and be an influencer within and beyond the IT team (for example with Digital)

Qualifications :

Essential Qualifications •At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Beyond this baseline, software development experience and proven success is more important than formal education

Desirable Qualifications •Substantial software development and design expertise with large and complex systems, ideally in integration and event queuing space and specifically around supply chain management

Experience :

•Must have acquired deep understanding combined with practical real-world experience in different event queuing and software development technologies

•Hands-on experience in multiple integration and event queuing technologies including MuleSoft and Kafka.

•Hands-on expertise in multiple programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, Java, Go, and/or Python, ideally across the software stack with Web user interfaces, algorithm development, relational data models and different types of data management technologies

•Must have worked on applications that were deployed to customers and helped these go live

• Experience technically directing a group of software developers to meet a common goal with successful outcome

Skills and Knowledge :

•Excellent understanding of enterprise applications, cloud computing, large data analytics, and user interface technologies

•Knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics applications

•Proven technical leadership in multiple complex software projects

•Expertise in analyzing and designing for performance of large-scale software systems

•Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts into understandable terms to different teams in the organization including non-technical product managers

•Thorough understanding of technology trends in Enterprise software and beyond, and the ability to analyze the potential impact or benefit for the software projects of the IT team

•Proven ability in coaching and mentoring others

•Understanding of EDI and API concepts

•Mobile Application development

•Event-based middleware

•AWS and Azure cloud
