About the role:
Working as Engineering Team Lead your role will focus on equal parts technical and leadership with a focus on high-level service delivery across projects. You will be responsible for the successful onboarding and upskilling of Itoc’s technical capability teams whilst supporting the delivery of Itoc’s technical strategy, projects and products.
The Engineering Team Lead is a key role within Itoc’s technical teams that exists to build and shape the technical delivery capability of the organisation through evangelising and promoting engineering excellence while mentoring and training Itoc’s technical staff. Ultimately you will be tasked with creating an environment in which people feel connected, supported and can thrive. 

Your day to day will include (but not be limited to):

Ongoing coaching and support of your team members, facilitating career development and training opportunities and individually tailored learning and development plans.
Review of team performance via project management tooling and the review of weekly timesheets.
Ensuring teams have the correct level of technical training, skills and competency to deliver Itoc targets.
Delivery work including presales, solution architecture, consulting and engineering in accordance with Itoc’s technical standards, processes and frameworks.
About you:
We are looking for someone with equal parts leadership and technical knowledge whilst displaying a passion for driving teams forward and achieving results. One of the key traits of the Engineering Team Lead is the ability to break down complex technical concepts and communicate to technical staff of differing knowledge and experience levels. 
 
Essential
Great communication skills, an ability to work closely with an international team of developers and engineers and have the confidence to present ideas in open forums.
Sound judgement and pragmatic approach to delivering AWS architectures that balance customer needs, business constraints and technology.
Experience architecting highly-available, scalable, secure solutions within complex technological environments on AWS.
Demonstrated experience mentoring and training technical staff members and assessing knowledge and skills to determine gaps.
Demonstrated experience administering systems operating on Linux and Windows.
Experience designing build and deployment pipelines with at least one CI/CD technology.
Keen interest and curiosity in emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.
AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional Certification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Become an ambiguity absorber - be familiar with the leadership required to push through ambiguity, handle risk, uncertainty and ensure development of teams skills in managing. 
Desirable
Previous experience creating concise training materials on topics of differing technical complexity.
Previous experience creating knowledge and skills assessment activities in order to highlight gaps.
