The SQL Server DBA is responsible for the development and execution of plans to ensure the operational efficiency of all database solutions supported by DigiTech including the iPower Product Team. Environments include production, UAT, development, testing, training and demonstration. The Australian Hosting Centre hosts the iPower application for multiple territories throughout Asia Pacific and is responsible for coordinating strategic initiatives on AU provided systems in global Hosting Centres.

Responsibilities

As an SQL Server DBA in our DigiTech team your impact will be seen by: 

Management and Coaching principles:


Ensuring the satisfactory performance of all enterprise databases


Ensuring the availability of data, whilst maintaining adequate safeguards and security in line with PwC policy and industry best practice


Designing and implementing corporate databases, data models and associated administration plans


Designing and implementing Cloud ready solutions with PaaS and cost reduction in mind


Advising on acquisition and upgrade of new Database and other server software


Determining client database needs, promoting rational development and eliminating data redundancy


Advising Data warehousing & Business Intelligence teams with respect to projected data growth & integration with multiple components


Implementing and monitoring security measures that affect the organisation’s Database systems


Providing expertise, manage and maintain the development of a disaster recovery / business continuity plan surrounding the organisation’s Database Systems


Driving automation through scripting


Requirements

Ideally, you will have:


3+ years’ experience in Database Administration, development and application support


Advanced knowledge and experience in enterprise MS SQL Server server (2012 / 2014 / 2016 2017 / 2019) features


Advanced SQL server troubleshooting capabilities


Understanding of the organisations database and application architecture


Advanced skills in a major operating system and application delivery platform such as Windows Server 2012 / 2016 and IIS Server


Advanced TSQL language capabilities


Advanced Powershell language capabilities


Working knowledge and proven experience of using Cloud Service technologies specifically Azure and AWS environments


Strong communication skills – both written and verbal


Strong analytical skills


Ability to work with teams across multiple locations


Familiarity with Project management methodologies such as PMP and Scrum


Highly Valued Skills:


Working knowledge of DevOps and automation toolset , like Puppet, Chef, Terraform and Powershell DSC


MySQL/PostgreSQL/CosmosDB/Oracle database management experience


Advanced knowledge and experience of PaaS DB offerings (AWS / Azure)
